Happy Grandma (& Grandpa)

My absolute favorite thing is to hold a brand new baby, and it's even doubly special if it belongs to me. It's true what they say, being a grandma makes having kids all worth it. This is our newest little addition - Dax Grant McCloy, born 9-27-07, 8 lb 8 oz, 20 inches and more handsome than both his parents combined. Of course I'm probably prejudiced a bit. But what the hey, putting up with Jaxon all those years earns me the right. He arrived the morning of the day we were flying to California to meet him, so his timing was impeccable. Cori's family treated us royally and it was a happy, relaxing vacation. We stayed at San Clemente's Inn By the Beach (should be called "Inn By the Freeway," but we could actually see the ocean over the freeway). The weather and the beach were also very enjoyable. Great place. Congratulations Jaxon & Cori - you did good! BUT WAIT!!! Another phone call this afternoon (Oct 6) and we have a nother new granddaughter. Yippee for #13! Valerie Lyn Pope, 7 lb 12 oz, 20 inches and black hair, born to Darin & April Pope at Las Vegas, sister of Lydia & Harrison. Photos promised soon... I sure wish they all lived closer to us!!
